From the fire to the frying pan.....
Today was the absolute worst day of this whole journey. Daniel now has a ET tube back in and we saw his heart rate reach the highest it ever has....260. His fever remained steady at around 105 degrees for quite some time, until after they gave him some ibuprofen and then finally put the tube in. It was a very traumatic scene as Laura and I had just gotten there after both of our parents called to tell us his heart rate was up to 240. We had tried to stay away today as we all were feeling under the weather, but thankfully the grandparents were up there because when his heart rate reached that rate, they actually had to go let someone know at the desk, no reaction to any of the alarms....kinda scary. When we left tonight he was heavily sedated and we were back all the way in March again. Hopefully the next couple of days will see him come off the tube and get back on track although it doesn't seem that the folks here are that optimistic about him continuing his same course. There has been some discussion on going back to Cincinnati where they at least know him, but that is looking to be out of our range financially, but we still need to do more research before we make a decision. We never thought things would get this bad after leaving Cincinnati but it all goes back to every time something gets going in the right direction it ends up turning in the wrong direction at some point. I guess that's life.............
