Sunday Night
Let me first start out by giving a big thank you to Aimee. We had previously tried to figure out the best way to have people make donations that wanted to online. We've had several requests for this, but couldn't figure out the easiest way for it to be done. Anyway, although we have added that to this page, and we can assure anyone and everyone to help out in anyway they can, we want to stress that if you cannot help, we understand. In a lot of cases your prayers and thoughts are more than we could ever hope for to help everyone get through this difficult time. But we'd be lying to say that the cost involved with this is not astronomical. I guess the worst aspect of going to Cincinnati is we are not considered instate and therefore not eligible for all of the assistance we would be if we were residents. And South Carolina will not help out because he is not here. So, with that said, we would appreciate any help that anyone would like to provide for Daniel's hospital stays, medical equipment, doctor's visits, etc, but again, do what you can (money, prayer, thoughts, helping out with dinners, kids etc) I'd like to also be able to say Daniel has been getting better today as well, but it looks like he possibly has Staph and they did a 5 panel viral test that will at least tell us what is affecting him. He is on 2 antibiotics for at least the next 7 days. They do still plan on extubating him sometime this week and getting him to a high flow canula then on to regular oxygen and hopefully back down to the 1/2 liter he was on. Tomorrow will probably be a busy day for both Laura and Daniel as everything gets back down to business on Mondays after the weekend where it's usually a little slower. Also I forgot to mention Daniel did go back on the cooling blanket again this afternoon as his fever was spiking again. I believe we can all agree Daniel is one of the toughest little 5 1/2 month babies they seen as he's been through more medically than a lot of us might go through in our lifetime. Well, until the next update.......
